VIOLET Yong Wui Wui (DAP-Pending) is gratified that the problem with traffic light junction at Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Sungai Apong has finally found a solution.

“The residents of Jalan Selangan Batu off Jalan Tun Razak have requested for a U-Turn provision at the Jalan Tun Razak-Jalan Sungai Apong traffic light junction for many years. All these years, people have been making illegal U-turns which have resulted in them being summoned by the police,” she said.

Her question during the Q&A session on whether there would be a U-turn provision was responded to by Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communications Datuk Michael Manyin in the affirmative.

He told Yong that with the ongoing road upgrading project along Jalan Tun Razak towards Yoshi Square roundabout scheduled for completion by end of the year, there would be a U-turn provision at the said traffic light junction.

Yong said she had repeatedly brought up the matter in the DUN sitting since 2007.

“It may look like a small matter, but we never give up trying to solve the people’s problems. Since it’s for the safety and convenience of road users, I kept pushing for the matter to be heard and finally there is a result,” she said.
