Tiong’s days are numbered?

by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: Bintulu Member of Parliament Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing had experienced a big shock two days before Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom made an announcement on the decision of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) to re-nominate members of the Group of Five in the next state election.

He didn’t expect his ‘boss’ to say a BIG NO to him – and this had caused two of them had a big argument on that day.

Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom had flatly rejected his demand not to re-nominate the Group of Five members in the next state election.

And he was really not happy with Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom over this matter.

Dato’ Seri Tiong King Sing could feel that he was gradually losing his ‘influence’ on Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom.

As a matter of fact, things were seemed not to be right in the last few weeks.

His 'rumour' on the State Barisan Nasional (BN) Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud wanted to pull Sarawak out from the Federation of Malaysia failed to produce the kind of results which he was expected.

He thought that members of Parliament from United Malay National Organisatin (UMNO) would Peninsular would buy his rumours and be extremely anxious about the pull out matter and subsequently demanded the party president Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak to act fast.

The news that the government had brought Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik to the court over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) case had caused him to have a sleepless night.

He was afraid that he didn’t have enough time to cause something big to happen to ‘force’ UMNO to come into Sarawak.

It would be useless for him if when UMNO became the backbone of the Sarawak Government, he was around to enjoy the fruits of his success.

Thus, apparently the time was not on his side.

And now, Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom was giving him another headache.

He is now wondering what could happen next that would give another severe headache…
