NEWS FLASH – PKR lodges report over the Penan rape case


Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has taken up the ‘challenge’ issued by the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Fadillah Yusuf, who is also the Petra Jaya Member of Parliament, who had labeled the oppositions as being irresponsible for not making a police report over the Penan rape cases.

Today at about 12:00pm, the PKR Woman Chief YB Zuraida Kamaruddin lodged a police report at the Satok Police station. 



Earlier she and seven party members, including the Pending assemblywoman YB Voilet Yong Wui Wui from Democratic Action Party (DAP), met the State CID chief SAC II Huzir Mohamed for about one hour in a meeting room. 

The meeting was to discuss on the Penan rape issue including seven new cases that was mentioned in a booklet titled “A Wider Context Of Sexual Exploitation Of Penan Women and Girls in Middle and Ulu Baram Sarawak”. 

Later at 04:00pm, YB Zuraida Kamaruddin, who is also the Ampang Member of Parliament, would hold a press conference at the party state headquarters.
