KUCHING: About 53 kampungs and longhouses are connected to the state electricity grid under the Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) in the Tamin constituency.
Public Utilities Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi said the figure included 33 kampungs and longhouses, most of which have been successfully supplied with electricity with some by the end of this year.
He was responding to a question posed by Tamin assemblyman Joseph Mauh Ikeh during the DUN sitting yesterday.

"On amount of about RM11.1 million has so far been allocated for RES project in Tamin under the NKRA programme.
"Additional allocations shall be considered in the 10th Malaysian Second Rolling Plan (2012-2013)," he said.
Rundi said the RES projects for Rumah Rantai, Rumah Diah and Rumah Sumping have not been implemented.
"They shall be considered for implementation in 2013," he said.
