Rubiah Wang letak jawatan DO Asajaya untuk bertanding parlimen Samarahan?

Sebanaku mendapat berita bahawa Rubiah Wang telah memberikan surat perletakan jawatan sebagai District Officer Asajaya berkuatkuasa 24 jam.  Adalah difahamkan bahawa beliau telah berbuat demikian setelah dinasihatkan oleh seorang Menteri Kanan PBB (Menteri yang mempunyai banyak kuasa).

Adalah difahamkan bahawa Menteri berkenaan telah melobi kuat selama ini untuk pencalonan Rubiah Wang.  Orang-orang kuat menteri berkenaan berkata bahawa apabila YAB PM melawat Sarawak baru-baru ini menteri berkenaan telah ' berjaya' untuk melobi YAB PM untuk pencalonan Rubiah Wang.

KUCHING: Rubiah Wang, who is widely tipped to be the BN candidate for Kota Samarahan in the soon-to-be-called 13th general election preferred to keep mum over her candidacy.

She said the decision was in the hands of the BN top leaders, and that things would change in the 11th hour.

“Everything (about candidacy) is still not conclusive as the final list of candidates has yet to be announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak,” she said when met at the Asajaya Sports Complex yesterday.

Talks are rife that Rubiah is the likely candidate to replace Dato Sri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib, who won the seat in the 12th general election in 2008.

Rubiah, who is currently Samarahan District Officer, stressed that for now she preferred to continue serving the people as a civil servant to the best of her ability.

She denied holding any position in PBB, the backbone of the state BN coalition.
