Federation hands over memorandum to PM

SIBU: Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations handed a memorandum concerning the development of Chinese community to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at 1Malaysia Cultural Village, Bukit Aup here yesterday.Its president Wong Aik Loung handed the memorandum to Kelab Belia Graduan 1Malaysia president Tan Kian Soon, who would then hand it to the premier.
Tan told reporters that Najib was tied up with a function in Kedah and could not attend the launching of the cultural village here.
“We are also here for the function and indirectly, will hand the memorandum to PM, who is also our patron (of the club),” he said.
Despite Najib’s absence, the spirit of 1Malaysia was all around the cultural village.
Thousands of people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds turned up for the event.
It was a night of solidarity and unity as the various races were seen shaking hands and greeting each other.
Why has the sarawak state government for the past 30 years given most of its natural and state-owned wealth to Foochows and Foochows alone? What about the other Chinese dialect and bumiputeras?
