THE police will continue to deploy sufficient personnel to enforce the law and maintain their presence in Batu Kawa.
Minister with Special Functions at the Chief Minister’s Office Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem said this in response to Christina Chiew Wang See (DAP-Batu Kawah) who wanted to know how the authority would ensure peace and better security for the people in the constituency.
Replying to another question (why the police station at the old Batu Kawa bazaar) has stopped operating, Adenan said it was true that the station had stopped operating but the police would continue to patrol the area and do some policing and crime prevention works there on regular basis.

“On top of that, the presence of the General Operations Force (GOF) headquarters should be a plus factor for the enhancement of security in the area,” he said.
Adenan also told Chiew that in the 2008-2010 period 449 cases of violent and property crimes were reported in the constituency – one murder, 16 rapes, 60 robberies and 372 house break-ins and thefts.”
