NEWS FLASH - The Land and Survey Department wants to meet the Santubong folks to settle the land issue

The Land and Survey Department had decided it is better for it to settle the issue before more detailsare made known to members of the public (vide NEWS FLASH - Santubong folks question the rationale of giving land to Zalpoint dated on July 01, 2010).

The meeting between the villagers and department is tentatively to take place next Friday.

The Santubong folks are not happy because they are yet given any compensation for the land which was acquired by the State Government, through the Land and Survey Department.

The land was later given to Zalpoint which subsequently mortgaged it for a sum of between RM40 millions to RM60 millions.
