Naroden: It is fine to form BN Club
KUCHING: Do not condemn and corner the five initiators of the socalled Barisan Nasional (BN) Club 5 as they are still BN people. The club acts as a temporarily platform for them to voice out and it (club) is not against the party.
“Treat them as the BN people as they are never against the party; there are just some misunderstanding between them and the party president,” said Assistant Minister of Resource Planning Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais when asked to comment on the club setup by the five elected representatives (formerly of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party – SPDP).
“It is better to form such a club which still links to BN, rather than they join the opposition or form a new party which we do not want and do not need it (new party),” Naroden disclosed after attending a meeting with the Area Development Community (ADC) of Simunjan on the Native Customary Rights (NCR) land at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday.
Naroden pointed out this was his personal comment regarding to the issue.
“For me, it is fine to form the club as it can act as a temporary platform for them before they could find the best solutions.
“Instead of condemning them and revealing something negative on the formation of the club, we should provide them some constructive suggestions or advices which are good for them,” the Assistant Minister stated.
He added if UMNO can form clubs in the university overseas, why can’t they form a club to voice out, seeking for support and also acting as the platform to assist the people at the same time.If the BN Club 5 needs to be registered, let them register.
“If we think that forming the club is not the best way or what they are doing is wrong, do let them know. They can either join the other BN component parties or find a better solution for them,” he said.
He stressed that he did not want people to condemn them with negative words; yet no one was actually telling what would be the best for them.Since a club can be formed and dissolved anytime, so just let them be.
Among the five are MP for Mas Gading Datuk Tiki Lafe, and Assemblymen Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie (Tasik Biru), Paulus Palu Gumbang (Batu Danau), Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran (Marudi) and Bekenu Assemblywoman Rosey Yunus.
The meeting was chaired by Tuai Rumah Najib Abdullah with the attendance of more than 30 community leaders and longhouse chiefs to discuss matters pertaining to their NCR land.
