NEWS FLASH - Land & Survey Department is now in the PRESS relation mode

The Land and Survey Department is now trying to get itself closer to the press as to avoid another 'embrassing' case similar to the Pulau Bruit case.

The Kampung Bruit folks are not happy because the department had given the land which they had applied 'earlier' to a Sibu-based company Poh Zhen Sdn Bhd without informing them.

They were told that their application was in process but at the same time the department gave the land to the company.

At least one village is said to be keen to join Kampung Bruit in the fight for their 'justice'.

PRESS STATEMENT by Mukah divisional Land and Survey Department on the Bruit issue

by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: Mukah divisional Land and Survey Department claims that there is no overlapping of claims between the Kampung Bruit residents and Poh Zhen Sdn Bhd with regards to state land applied for the oil palm plantation business.
If this is true, then why the villagers were making noise as if their 'land' was being taken by the company which is said to be linked to Rimbunan Hijau, Dato Sri Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar and YB Norah Tun Rahman?

Both the villagers and company did send their inquiries to the department - and it is true that there is no overlapping of claims then why can't this matter being resolved months ago?
