Asfia's dream to be CM shattered by Abdullah

More than a year ago, he was a very influential person in PBB.

Although there was relatively nothing he could shout about his own constituency, this didn't stop him from being able to earn a favourable position in the eyes of the party president.

From time to time, he would be consulted on important matters especially pertaining to the party.

N49 Nangka: DR versus SYED

The defeat of the Barisan Nasional candidate in the Sibu by-election last year, had kick-started the initiative to look for a possible candidate to replace Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.

Although the oppositions were quick to claim that it was the strong dislike for the Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud by the Chinese voters was the main cause for the defeat, some PBB leaders disagreed with this view.

The history of Wahab Dollah, Abu Seman and Jemoreng

    Part 1……

"....Huat Hui pointed out that Matu town’s 22 shop houses are old and dilapidated.
“We need capable and enterprising leaders like Wahab to transform the old wooden shop houses in Matu town to concrete buildings just like in Daro town to enhance our business and trading activities,” he said. - Borneo Post

Wahab was and is still Matu/Daro rep for the last 27 years. Yes for the last 27 years these 22 units of "old dilapidated pasar kayu of Matu" are still there until to this date!

N58 Jepak: Talip is wary of Asfia's money

BINTULU: Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talip Zulpilip is now very wary of his fellow colleague in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu.

He is not afraid of rumours any rumours that he would not be picked as a candidate in the coming state election.

Datuk Talip Zulpilip is very confident that the party president Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud still wants him to defend the seat despite of him having an arrogant attitude when dealing with people's problem.

As a matter of fact, what matters to him is how Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud thinks about him and not what the constituents or members of the public have to say about him.

Shahrir, thanks for the RM1 million but where is your apology?

Dear Datuk Seri Shahrir Samad,

Thanks for the RM1 million aid promised for Pulau Bruit. We are sure that the Pulau Bruit folks are happy with the news on the aid.

However, sadly, you failed to apologise to Pulau Bruit folks as well as Sarawakians for describing "90 peratus daripada mereka (the Pulau Bruit folks) kebuluran (acute or chronic hunger)" in your statement dated on 2010/09/03 in a national newspaper.

Who are the PBB guys interested in Belawai?

by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: When his name was dropped as an assistant minister at the end of last year, it was sort of a sign to all that his days as an elected representative were numbered.

As a matter of fact, Datuk Hamden Ahmad was a loyal soldier who didn't go berserk after being dropped from the State Cabinet.

He just kept quiet and went to his constituency, Belawai, to carry out his normal duty as an elected representative without much ado.

KUCHING: It is indeed very difficult for an female religious teacher, ustazah, to be an elected representative.

There are so many prohibitions which an ustazah has to observe.

UBF - SIAPA SEBENARNYA TAKUT UMNO MASUK SARAWAK ?

Why buy back the Sarawak Energy Berhad’s shares?

by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: During the recent sitting of State Legislative Assembly (DUN), the Padungan assemblyman Dominique Ng was being deprived of his right to demand for an answer on the Barisan Nasional Government’s move to buy back all the privately owned shares of Sarawak Energy which had took over SESCO without any payment of cash.

It was done after SESCO was privatized in June 2004 by the State Legislative Assembly (DUN).

NEWS FLASH - Norliah as Temenggong

An elder sister to the Tanjung Manis Member of Parliament Datuk Norah Tun Rahman, Norliah Tun Rahman, is to be appointed as a Temenggong for the Malay / Melanau community in the Mukah Division.

Her name is being considered for the post after she rejected an overture by the Semop assemblyman Dato Sri Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar, who is also the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker, to be the Barisan Nasional / Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) candidate in  the Semop constituency in the next state election.

In Sarawak, the post of Temenggong represents a certain race at the divisional level - and it is the highest post in the local administration hierarchy and followed by Pemanca in the district level, Penghulu and Ketua Kaum.
