Perkasa wooing the Dayaks

by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: Perkasa state chief Abang Nasser Abang Hadari is now trying to woo the Dayaks by showing his concern on a 18 year old Iban lass whose plight was highlighted in a local paper recently.

Before this he tried to make Perkasa appeal to the Bumiputera by criticizing the Batu Lintang assemblyman Voon Lee Shan’s statement that the Chinese are the native in the state.

He basically told the people’s representative to shut up – and if the Chinese wanted to be considered as a 'native', then just pick up any culture of the indigenous people and try to embrace it.

Voon Lee Shan Just Stating The Fact

by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: Salam 1Malaysia ...

"Pick any culture of the indigenous people and fully embrace it. And if you can't be one of us, then just be happy with what you are now!"

Basically this is what Malaysian Bumiputera Rights Movement (Perkasa) is telling d non-Bumiputera over the native status issue which was raised by the Batu Lintang assemblyman Voon Lee Shan on last Friday in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN).

CALLS TO RECOGNISE CHINESE AS NATIVES

Voon Lee Shan - A caring Wakil Rakyat
by Sebanaku Sarawak

KUCHING: Batu Lintang assemblyman Voon Lee Shan had surprised many Malays and Dayaks assemblymen on last Friday during the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting.

Not even one the indigenous assemblymen was heard making any sound when Lee Shan was reading his text speech urging the state government to recognise the native status of the Chinese, Eurasians, Indians, et cetera which was conferred to them by the Rajah Brooke.

If a pin was dropped on the floor, all could have heard it!

DUN Sitting (Day Four): Voon calls for govt clinic or mobile medical team for Batu Lintang

(Nov 04, 2010)

KUCHING: Batu Lintang constituency badly needs a government clinic or at least a regular mobile medical team to provide medical services to the people living in the area.

This was among the issues highlighted by Voon Lee Shan (DAP-Batu Lintang) when debating the Supply (2011) Bill 2010 and a motion to refer the Resolution on the Estimates of Development Expenditure 2011, at the DUN sitting on Wednesday. He told the august house that the constituency was experiencing a growing population and should not be left without a government clinic.
