There are rumours that General Manager of SEDC Datu Dr Sulaiman Hussaini has been appointed as the new SEDC chairman after the state election.

Meanwhile the chairman Datuk Talip Zulpilip is rumoured being appointed as an advisor.

If the rumours turned out to be true, we wish to congratulate Datu Dr Sulaiman Hussaini.

BINTULU: Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talip Zulpilip is now very wary of his fellow colleague in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu.

He is not afraid of rumours any rumours that he would not be picked as a candidate in the coming state election.

Datuk Talip Zulpilip is very confident that the party president Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud still wants him to defend the seat despite of him having an arrogant attitude when dealing with people's problem.

As a matter of fact, what matters to him is how Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud thinks about him and not what the constituents or members of the public have to say about him.

 Jamaludin, is it true that you are the one who said "janji staff SEDC semuanya janji mulut, janji kosong ajak, sik boleh di pake!"???

If it is true, then it is a very shameful admission that SEDC has a culture of giving empty promises to the rakyat!!! 

And, if it is true, the Chairman Datuk Talip Zulpilip has to go for allowing (or may be championing) the culture to exist in the organisation which is supposed to honour all of its promises to the rakyat.

Lastly, are you the one who told the BUMIPUTERA entrepreneurs to pack their things and move out from Kubah Ria???

Tourist arrivals in first eight months down

KUCHING: Overall tourist arrivals into Malaysia in the first eight months this year showed an increase of 5.2 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. But, unfortunately, for Sarawak, it registered a negative growth.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan, who is also Tourism and Heritage Minister, said visitors’ arrivals into Sarawak from January to August this year were 2,063,240. This is a drop of 1.5 percent when compared to the same period last year.

Foreign arrivals decreased by 11.97 percent but domestic arrivals showed an increase of 17 percent during the periods under study.

SEDC Takes Strict Stand In Disbursing Entrepreneurial Aid

MIRI -- The Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is taking a strict stand in providing entrepreneurial aid to ensure that only those committed to their ventures receive the aid.

Its Chairman, Datuk Talib Zulpilip, today said there had been a number of people who had received assistance from SEDC and had failed to succeed due to a lack of commitment and discipline towards their business.

"I know there are people who would not be happy with this but we had to do it because we want them to be successful," he said when closing the Young Entrepreneurs Programme (YEP) here today.

a month!!!

BINTULU: Peniaga gerai milik Perbadanan Pembangunan Ekonomi Sarawak (SEDC) di Kubah Ria, Kuching akan diarah mengosongkannya (gerai) jika tiga bulan sewa tidak dibayar.

Pengerusi SEDC Datuk Talib Zulpilip berkata pihaknya tidak akan teragak-agak berbuat demikian memandangkan ramai yang berminat untuk berniaga di kawasan yang baru dibuka pada September lepas.

"Ramai yang kini diletakkan dalam senarai menunggu. Jika peniaga sedia ada enggan membayar sewa, kita akan arah mengosongkan gerai dan menggantikannya dengan peniaga dalam senarai.

"Mereka yang menunggu juga akan marah kerana gerai tidak bayar sewa terus diberi ruang berniaga," katanya ditemui pada majlis perasmian Konvensyen Modal Insan Peringkat Luar Bandar di Kuala Tatau, dekat sini semalam.

Berita dari Bintulu berkenaan kedudokkan wakil wakil rakyat terutamanya Datuk Talib adalah mendukacitakan. Kerana orang kanannya yang disokog dan dibelainya selama tok sudah sampai mengenepikan ramai kawan dan rakan lama dlm parti kini bersokongkol dengan orang orang PKR. apa maknanya ini. DUN Sitting (Day Four): Improvement for Kpg Benuk, Kpg Mongkos homestay programmes

TWO Bidayuh villages — Kampung Benuk and Kampung Mongkos — are set to benefit from infrastructure improvement projects worth more than RM2 million for the homestay programme.

Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip told the assembly yesterday that his ministry was submitting two projects in the two villages for consideration under the 10th Malaysia Plan.

“Amounting to RM2,634,750, these projects are Kampung Benuk Homestay and Bangunan One Stop Centre and Gelanggang Sukan Pelbagai Guna Berbumbung for Kampung Mongkos homestay,” he said when replying to a question from Datuk Aidan Wing (BN-Lambir).
