UBF: Sabah must get more from new oil finds

WHAT ABOUT SARAWAK???!!!

Sabah must get more from new oil finds’
Queville To | August 8, 2011fmt

With the new oil and gas finds in Sabah, it is imperative that the deal with Petronas is revisited, says Jeffrey Kitingan.

KOTA KINABALU: Jeffrey Kitingan today claimed that state Barisan Nasional leaders stopped making a fuss about the meagre oil royalties from Petronas once their ‘associates’ had been awarded lucrative contracts by the national oil company.

Disclosing this, Borneo Heritage Foundation (BHF) leader Jeffrey said: “Sabah BN leaders should also stop paying lip service and for once seriously consider the interests of the state and the plight of the poor citizens.

“The time is up for these leaders and for patriotic leaders to rise and demand for the rights of Sabah and its people to be the paramount criteria, especially for the sake of the future generations of Sabahans.”

UBF: Jeffrey wants Malaysia Agreement reviewed

Luke Rintod | March 28, 2011 FMT

Sabah and Sarawak must seize control of their own destiny and shape their own economic and political model, according to UBF leader Jeffrey Kitingan.

KUNDASANG: United Borneo Front (UBF) leader Jeffrey Kitingan said both the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Rakyat political models are out-dated, as far as the 1963 Malaysia Agreement isconcerned.

Jeffrey, who has experience in both BN and Pakatan, claimed that both political fronts pay mere lip service to the agreement that is, by its very nature, faulty for want of proper legal interpretation of the original intentions of the forefathers who brought this country together.

“They (Malayan leaders) failed since 1963 to include the Borneo Agenda as an important component of their party manifestos,” he told a UBF Borneo tea party at Kampung Bundu Tuhan in Kundasang on Saturday.

UBF: Please respect Malaysia Act 1963

A free and independent Sarawak
Maclean Patrick | March 21, 2011

Sarawak cannot secede from the federation but one can surmise that the state can act independently of the federal government.

COMMENT

In the 18-Point Agreement with the Federation of Malaya, Sarawak has been given self-governing authority.

This document forms the cornerstone of Sarawak’s entry into the Federation of Malaysia and should be the measure by which the state evaluates any new policy formulated by the federal government.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) government has all along stated that Sarawak could not survive without a BN government. This is the slogan being chanted by BN representatives with the state election around the corner.

This idea is erroneous since Sarawak existed as a self-governing mini-nation long before the idea of the Federation of Malaysia was mooted.

UBF: Give Sabah, Sarawak 45 parliamentary seats each

Queville To | February 28, 2011

With its current 'mere' 25%, it will be meaningless to competing federal coalitions in the event of a tie in the general election, says Jeffrey Kitingan.

KOTA KINABALU: United Borneo Front (UBF) leader Jeffrey Kitingan has proposed an increase in parliamentary seats to 256 from the current 222 in tandem with the population increase in Sabah and Sarawak.

He said this was crucial to protecting the interest of states, in particular Sabah and its people.

He said currently Sabah and Sarawak held 25% of the parliamentary seats which was less than than ‘even a 1/3 right to vote.’

Further Confirmation That Anwar & PKR Do Not Know Or Care About Sarawak & Sabah

PKR risks irrelevance in Sabah and Sarawak
Joe Fernandez | February 13, 2011 Free Malaysia Today

Anwar Ibrahim has made far too many mistakes in the two states
PETALING JAYA: No matter how one looks at the political situation in Sabah and Sarawak, PKR risks irrelevance there. Its continuing spin on Pakatan Rakyat’s agenda for change and reform will never work in the two states because it excludes the Borneo Agenda.

UBF: Umno-led Barisan Nasional reduces local politicians and communities to mere by-standers

Pairin defends Umno which once ousted him
Michael Kaung | January 26, 2011

Two former CMs lock horns over 'neutered' role of BN component parties.

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Joseph Pairin Kitigan has countered opposition criticism that the Umno-led Barisan Nasional government has reduced local politicians and communities to mere by-standers.

“Everyone in BN has been working hard together for the people,” said Pairin, who is Deputy Chief Minister and also Infrastructure Development Minister.

He said that claims by the opposition that leaders from the Kadazandusun Murut communities were at a disadvantage in the BN were nonsense.

UBF: Unite or fall, says Jeffrey

Unite or fall, Jeffrey tells Sabahans (and Sarawakians)

fmt | January 1, 2011
KOTA KINABALU: The leader of the rights movement United Borneo Front (UBF), Jeffrey Kitingan, has called on Sabahans to unite to regain their position in the country.

“The old saying, ‘United we stand, divided we fall’ is the premise by which we have lost our autonomy. To regain our position as equals, we must unite and put our differences aside,” he said in a New Year message.

“We must unite under the Borneo Agenda which we will push together as a growing team before the next general election. This is the last chance we’ll have to make this known to the federal powers.”

He was speaking at the Tambunan Village Resort Centre (TVRC) in Tambunan on Thursday, in conjunction with the launch of UBF’s roadshows as part of its commitment to educate the masses on the Borneo Agenda and its many demands.

UBF: Sebanaku Sarawak supports United Borneo Front

Sebanaku Sarawak supports the movement !!!

Jeffrey forms movement for Sabahans, Sarawakians, remains in PKR for now

Thu, 16 Dec 2010 17:03
By Luke Rintod

UPDATED AT 11.40PM KOTA KINABALU: Former PKR vice-president Jeffrey Kitingan today announced the formation of United Borneo Front (UBF) as a network grouping for Sabahans and Sarawakians to assert their rights.

He also said that he was not leaving PKR as was widely speculated and dodged questions if he would leave the party in the near future.

Speaking to reporters at the end of his two-month vacation from politics today, Jeffrey said that the United Borneo Front would work to ensure that the rights of Sabahans and Sarawakians are protected.

The movement will work as a watchdog for the people of Sabah and Sarawak, he added.

The maverick politician also said that UBF will be his main platform for his struggle, which he aims to achieve, regardless of under Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat.

UBF: Thank you Azmin & PKR

We need more Malayans who respect Sarawakians as their equals to be national leaders.
We don't want Malayan Masters to treat us as if we are their servants.
And again, thank you Azmin.

UBF : 'Borneonisation' does not equal anti-KL, says MP

We are not asking more than what are being stipulated in the 18-Point of Agreement.
We are also not asking the  Malayans to kowtow to us.
“We are only asking what is rightfully ours.”

By Queville To

KOTA KINABALU: The long-overdue Borneonisation of public services in Sabah should not be read as anti-federal feelings, a member of Parliament from Sabah cautioned.

Sabahans, Tawau MP Chua Boon Bui said, were merely fighting for their right under the 20-Point Agreement.

Explaining the numerous calls to speed up the take over of federal departments by locals, Chua said: “We are only asking what is rightfully ours.”

UBF: Will us be like Sabah in losing our lands to Malayans???

In a way, we are lucky because we can learn from Sabah.
But will we learn from the state's bitter experience???
Or will we commit the same mistake???

Don't turn Sabah into another Zimbabwe

By Queville To

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has warned that the trend of Sabahans losing their lands to peninsula-based plantation firms will cause major socio-economic problems like in the Philippines and Zimbabwe.

SAPP chief Yong Teck Lee said those in power should act now to protect agricultural land to prevent their takeover by giant corporations.

Yong was commenting on a statement by Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) on “land grabs” affecting the local people in Sabah.

“I am surprised that Herbert (Timbon Lagadan, PBS vice-president)seems unconcerned about the fact that many local people are losing their lands to big companies from outside Sabah.

"A huge number of native titles have been leased out on long-term basis. Small plots of agricultural land that used to be cultivated by local Sabahans have fast fallen into the hands of Peninsula-based corporations.

UBF : The world declares Sabah as the poorest state.

What has UMNO done with the money???

By Queville To
Fri, 12 Nove 2010 12:14

KOTA KINABALU: The World Bank recently made an embarrassing disclosure that Sabah still remains the poorest state in Malaysia despite 16 years of Barisan Nasional (BN) rule.

Now the opposition wants to know: where have all the funds given to Sabah for poverty eradication gone to?

Luyang state assemblywoman Melanie Chia today fired a broadside at the state government: “It is indeed shocking to learn that although the state has only 10% of Malaysia’s population, it has 40% of the poverty.

“Millions have been spent over the years, but the poor people who were supposed to benefit from these programmes remain poor.”

UBF - We, Stupid Sarawakians, Are Being Shortchanged By The Malayans Again !!!

Sabah and Sarawak the 'biggest losers'
By Rahmah Ghazali
Mon, 18 Oct 2010 17:02

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah and Sarawak have been “marginalised” in Budget 2011 despite bigger contributions to the government's coffers than its counterparts in the peninsula.

Tony Pua, DAP national publicity secretary, said that from the projects outlined, the peninsula is “by far the biggest beneficiary, with Sabah and Sarawak the biggest losers”.

UBF - We, Stupid Sarawakians, Were (and sadly still) Conned By Malayans

"Mangkang Menua,Mangkang Dunya,Ngetan Ke Bansa!!"
April 23, 2010

By Dr Ooi Keat Gin

WHEN I first arrived at Kuching airport in May 1983, I was ushered into the row for foreigners at the immigration checkpoint where my Malaysian passport was examined and stamped “Social Visit”, with an expiry date.

I felt like an “alien” despite knowing full well that Sarawak was part of the Federation of Malaysia. My feelings of alienness were, however, short-lived, quickly overcome by the friendliness and warmth of the locals I encountered.

Sat, 09 Oct 2010 12:03 .By Charlie Rudai

PUTATAN: The Malaysian and British governments could be sued for failing to protect Sabah and the “Borneonisation” process promised in the Malaysia Agreement.

The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has pledged to take the governments of the two countries and the Prime Minister of Malaysia to court for dishonouring the Malaysia Agreement signed in London on July 9, 1963.

Malaysia is 47 years old through the unification of Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore in 1963. (Singapore was separated from Malaysia in 1965.)

The Kuala Lumpur-Kota Kinabalu-Kuching relationship must be relooked because of the imbalance between the centre and the periphery.

Pesanan pakcik buat mamat-mamat yang sekolah tak cukup: “Engkorang anak Malaya sebenarnya, bukan anak Malaysia.”

UBF - Surat Terbuka Untuk Kolumnis Zaini Hassan

Akhirkata, Selamat Hari Malaysia ...

Sekian.

Sebanaku Sarawak

Sekian.
